Sleep Powder, Also Known As Vitamin B
It's true, Vitamin B will help you sleep like a baby. There are various components found in BodyBio's Vitamin B+ that aid in a great night's rest. So much so that I often refer to vitamin B as "sleep powder".
What Are B Vitamins?
B Vitamins consist of a large group of water-soluble vitamins that play a major role in the digestion and metabolism of our food. We need B vitamins to be able to convert the food we eat into energy. They are also essential for nervous system development as well as the regulation of our mood and sleep patterns. There are eight kinds of B Vitamins, which all have their own unique functions, but they all work together to achieve optimal health. BodyBio has come up with a formula that combines these vitamins in the perfect balance. BodyBio’s B+ supplement, or as I like to call it, “sleep powder” contains a perfectly curated blend of all these eight essential B vitamins.
Vitamin B as Sleep Powder
If you have ever found yourself struggling to get a good night's rest, you are not alone. According to the Philips Global Sleep Study, over 62% of adults worldwide suffer from chronic sleep problems. This lack of quality sleep is associated with a number of health problems, from increased risk of injuries, development of metabolic diseases, mental illnesses, poor quality of life, and decreased work productivity.
Although there are eight unique B Vitamins, two of them (Vitamin B6 and B12) are especially important for the nervous system. Studies have found that many people who suffer from sleep problems have deficiencies in these vitamins. This is when BodyBio’s Vitamin B+ sleep powder would result in significant benefits.
Vitamin B6
Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine, is responsible for over 100 different enzymatic reactions in the body! The main roles of B6 are its assistance in the breakdown of carbohydrates, fat, and protein, as well as the production of neurotransmitters.
Neurotransmitters are important chemical messengers that send signals throughout the body. Some examples of the neurotransmitters that created by B6 are melatonin and serotonin. You might have heard of melatonin supplements because of their effect on sound sleep, so you can understand why B6 is so important. With adequate B6, your body can produce the melatonin it needs to be able to get you to sleep quicker and help you stay asleep. Studies have found that a lack of B6 in the diet can lead to insomnia and depression. Another fun tidbit is that research has found that B6 may also help you to recall your dreams better!
On the other hand, serotonin is the neurotransmitter that is known as the “happy hormone.” It gets this name because of its capability to reduce feelings of depression and boost endorphins throughout the body. Endorphins are considered the body’s natural pain killer!
Vitamin B12
Now that we have discussed the importance of B6, let’s dive into another important component of BodyBio’s sleep powder, Vitamin B12. Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is used by almost every single cell in the body! This is because it is used to help synthesize DNA, create new red blood cells and support brain function. A lack of B12 in the diet is associated with anemia and fatigue.
Many studies have found a correlation between a lack of B12 and circadian rhythm problems. Meaning that lower levels of B12 are associated with the quality, timing, and amount of sleep someone has. These persistent circadian rhythm problems can become distressing, as it becomes difficult to function through regular activities of daily living.
